Community Economic Development

The Community Economic Development (CED) programme is an initiative designed for local community groups and organisations who want to take a lead in shaping their economies for the benefit of local communities.

This programme is now closed for applications.

The programme supports residents, local business and public sector organisations to work together to develop the best ideas to strengthen the local economy.

The CED programme offers grants and support to selected communities, helping them produce a well-supported, dynamic and deliverable local economic plan. Each bespoke plan will identify practical opportunities to develop the local economy and boost engagement so the community is actively shaping the economic future of the local area.

Participating communities are allocated an experienced adviser to act as the main point of contact and will guide you throughout the process. A grant of £5,000 is available to support the further development of your plan and you will also have access to six days specialist support.
