Crime Innovation Fund
This fund is now closed.
The Community action against crime: Innovation fund encourages communities to develop innovative approaches to tackling local crime issues that matter to them. The fund is worth £5 million in 2011/12, with a further £5 million set aside for 2012/13.
About the fund
The fund encourages fresh ways of tackling crime and community safety problems. In particular, it will fund partnership working in tackling crime, and will be used to encourage voluntary and community groups to work within their community safety partnership to tackle local crime problems, including through co-design and co-delivery of initiatives to cut crime.
Funds were only allocated to groups who adopted new approaches to existing community safety problems or who adapted existing approaches that have not been carried out previously. Applications from grassroots community activists who are not traditional recipients of government grants were encouraged.
Community action against crime: Innovation fund is funded by the Home Office and is worth £5 million in 2011/12, with a further £5 million set aside for 2012/13.
