| Welcome
The National Empowerment Partnership (NEP) programme ran between April 2007 and March 2011. It was funded by the government Department for Communities and Local Government and managed by the Community Development Foundation (CDF), and its purpose was to gather evidence of effective community empowerment activities and promote the powerful benefits of involving communities in decisions that affect them by sharing knowledge about what really works.
The production of resources has been central to achieving this aim.
The NEP programme consisted of a local partnership in each of the nine English regions, each of which developed its own distinctive character reflecting regional difference and the organisations and areas of work involved. All of the regional partnerships produced resources evidencing their work, and there was additionally a body of work at a national level bringing together particular themes of importance.
Although by no means comprehensive, this directory contains a range of the major resource materials produced under the programme, which together make up a considerable library covering diverse aspects of community development, empowerment and engagement.
A full list of resource materials can be viewed here, and many resources can be downloaded from the NEP page of the CDF website.

| Evaluation reports |
|
Evaluation reports are created for a number of reasons. Within the context of a funded programme such as NEP, they have an accountability role, showing that funds were used to persue the programme's aims. In addition, evaluation reports address whether the techniques and approaches used to increase community empowerment are effective in realising the intended aims. Go to evaluation reports |
