Strong communities: supporting good practice in community engagement
We support good practice in community engagement in planning, regeneration programmes and the development of new towns and settlements.
We believe that there are a number of important synergies between CD and planning processes, and that the development of support for CD workers in this area would substantially aid CD workers, as well as the ability of communities to determine critical aspects of their local infrastructure, built and natural environment and services.
Currently, we are undertaking a scoping exercise to identify the key areas where community development approaches can support community-led forward planning and contribute to the development of local spatial plans as well as other local development issues such as flooding, coastal erosion and specific regeneration and development initiatives.
