The Hardship Fund was a £16.7 million government sponsored programme which delivered grants between £50,000 and £250,000 to third sector organisations facing hardship as a result of the recession.
CDF was administering the programme, which included an evaluation element. The evaluation examined the impact of the recession on organisations applying for a grant, and explored how the grant supported those organisations. This involved reviewing evidence that organisations provided to demonstrate their financial hardship, and interviewing grant recipients towards the beginning of the programme, and towards the end in Dec 2010.
