Tackling Race Inequalities Fund is a £8.8 million grant programme which supports third sector organisations working in the area of race equality.

This includes research work, promoting equality of opportunity, increasing civic participation by people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, and building capacity for organisations working in this area.

The Fund has funded 27 organisations operating across England or one of its regions, with grants of between £200,000 and £450,000 spread over two years (July 2009 – March 2010 and April 2010 – March 2011).

The TRIF interim evaluation report covering the first year of the programme is now available. The findings from the second and final stage of the evaluation will be available in March 2011.
