CDF led a consortium of 29 national civil society organisations to deliver a complex £4.5m programme to support the voluntary sector to take action on sustainable development and climate change.
About the fund
The programme was funded by the Department for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and ran from 2006-2009. CDF provided the overall operational and financial management of the programme which was delivered by an operational team split across five partner organisations.
The programme delivered a suite of high quality resources for community organisations, supported national civil society networks to support their members to improve their environmental sustainability and trained over 1,600 people to support local action on environmental issues.
Every Action Counts consortium partners also worked with Defra, the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to develop the Third Sector Declaration on Climate Change. The Declaration encouraged signatories to take action to reduce the climate impact of their work and protect their members and beneficiaries against the impacts of climate change.
