The NEP Catalogue (2011) is now available for download. The catalogue contains documents published by the nine Regional Empowerment Partnerships and other partners involved over the four years of the programme, from July 2007 to March 2011. This resource presents an extensive and varied collection of resource materials including research, toolkits and reports produced under the programme, covering diverse aspects of community development, empowerment and engagement.

National Empowerment Partnership (NEP)

The NEP programme aimed to empower citizens and communities. It brought together the work of local authorities, government departments, statutory agencies and community organisations in empowering local people by:

Growing the demand – getting more people involved in local activities and decisions.

Growing the supply – helping people, community groups, parish councils and other organisations become more effective in having a say in how their communities are run.

Growing the network – providing regional systems and structures to support empowerment work and to share information on all aspects of empowerment.

CDF gathered evidence of effective community empowerment and promoted the benefits of involving communities in decisions that affect them.

CDF’s research team conducted national programme evaluations of both NEP and the Targeted Support Empowerment and Participation Improvement (TSEPI) programmes in 2010-11.

Resources produced by the programme and final evaluation reports for both NEP and TSEPI can be accessed below.
